Christmas Caroling around Foxwood

DSC02449 DSC02452 DSC02453 DSC02455 The First Christmas Caroling was held Sunday December 14th at 7pm. Although there was only six people in attendance we enjoyed strolling the Village singing songs. A few people heard the music and greeted us as we sung. Maybe next year there will be more interest, It really wasn’t that cold but we enjoyed Hot Cocoa and Cookies after at the Clubhouse.

Janet Bernnardo and Bill Heiberger chaired this fine Evening. Highlights included good food and drinks; installation of the new officers for 2015, acknowledgement  of the outgoing officers, and our thanks to the recreation committee for their service in 2014. We enjoyed some singing by Mike Cuomo and Joe Daiuto. We also celebrated Nelson Dussault’s 90th birthday along with a raffle of the basket of cheer and the drawing for the bucket of $5. Let us say that there was much celebration last night in house #293.

As always it brought out a great many of the residents of the community to come welcome in the holidays and to wish their neighbors and friends a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and just a happy good holiday. There was fruit, cheese and pepperoni platters, crackers, candies and of course the wine , beer and soda. During the festivities Eileen Moylan organized a Christmas Carol sing along joined in by many residents. All had a good time and The Season begins at Foxwood.

Foxwood Village goes to Atlantic City

On the way down, residents were treated to Bus Bingo. They made a stop along way for a snack at the Cheesequake Rest area. While in AC many enjoyed the Trop Buffet, the tables and slots and just a grand old time. The return home to NY was greeted by the lights of the Freedom Tower.

Bill Austin led us in the pledge and offered an incantation. The VFW Post of Riverhead; The Van Rensselear Post #2476 was the color guard for the event.
