Nextdoor App

Some residents have been getting invitations to the ” Nextdoor Foxwood ” App and have questioned what it is and is it safe.

First: you need to understand that it is a social media platform such as Facebook, X (formerly  Twitter) Instagram, etc.

The purpose of this app is to allow you to exchange information on a local basis. When you join Nextdoor, it takes your location and puts you in a group close to home thus Nextdoor Foxwood. The site allows you to learn or share issues in your area, buy and sell items and talk with neighbors.

Next: you must treat it as you should be treating the other social media apps and NEVER give out personal information. (There are always people out there trolling all these sites for Personal Information.)

Is it safe: The site itself uses high quality encryption so the general answer is YES.  However as I stated, it is safe if you restrict your self to sharing community information or general information and restrict giving personal data. Doing so on this or ANY social media site over the internet is risky.

In Summery: It is can be a good app for staying informed locally as long as everyone using it follows the rules and you remember that less is better when it comes to your personal information.
